Q1. What is the purpose of the Shift module?

The Shift module helps in:

  • Defining employee work schedules (Morning, Evening, Night).
  • Setting fixed start and end times.
  • Assigning pickup, drop, and booking time windows.
  • Managing recurring weekly shifts.

Q2. Who uses this module?

  • Operations Teams → To assign trip schedules.
  • HR/Admin Teams → To manage employee work timings.
  • Dispatchers → To plan booking windows.

Q3. What fields are shown in the Shift list?

In the list view, you can see:

  • Name (Shift name, e.g., Morning, Evening)
  • Start Time
  • End Time
  • Days (Weekdays assigned)
  • Action (✏️ Edit, 🗑 Delete)

Q4. How do I create a new Shift?

Steps:

  1. From the main menu, go to Masters → Shift.
  2. The Shift table/list will open.
  3. Click the ➕ Add button at the top-right.
  4. Fill in the details:
    • Name → e.g., Morning / Evening
    • Start Time & End Time → Select hours from the clock
    • Weekdays → Select applicable days (Mon-Fri, etc.)
    • Drop Times / Pickup Times / Open Booking Times → Add optional slots
  5. Tick checkboxes if needed:
    • Fixed Adhoc Schedule
    • Open Adhoc Schedule
  6. Click Save → The new shift appears in the list.

Q5. What are the mandatory fields to create a Shift?

  • Name
  • Start Time
  • End Time
  • Weekdays

Q6. How can I edit an existing Shift?

Steps:

  1. From the main menu, go to Masters → Shift.
  2. Locate the shift in the list.
  3. Click the ✏️ Edit icon.
  4. Update required details (timings, weekdays, etc.).
  5. Click Save.

Q7. How can I delete a Shift?

Steps:

  1. From the main menu, go to Masters → Shift.
  2. Find the record.
  3. Click the 🗑 Delete icon.
  4. Confirm deletion → The shift is removed.

Q8. How do I bulk delete multiple Shifts?

Steps:

  1. From the main menu, go to Masters → Shift.
  2. In the Shift grid, tick the checkboxes of multiple shifts.
  3. Open the 3-dot menu (⋮) at the top-right.
  4. Select Bulk Delete.
  5. Confirm deletion → All selected shifts are removed.

Q9. How do I upload Shifts in bulk?

Steps:

  1. In the Shift grid, click the 3-dot menu (⋮).
  2. Select Upload.
  3. Download the upload template if required.
  4. Prepare your Excel/CSV file with shifts.
  5. Upload it.
  6. System validates → Shifts are added in bulk.

Q10. How do I download/export Shifts?

Steps:

  1. In the Shift grid, click the 3-dot menu (⋮).
  2. Select Download.
  3. The system exports all shifts in Excel/CSV format.

Q11. What actions are available in the 3-dot menu (⋮)?

  • Bulk Delete
  • Upload
  • Download

Q12. How do I manage Drop Times, Pickup Times, and Open Booking Times?

Steps:

  1. From the main menu, go to Masters → Shift.
  2. In the Add/Edit Shift form, scroll to respective sections.
  3. Click ➕ Drop Times → Add start and end times.
  4. Click ➕ Pickup Times → Add pickup slots.
  5. Click ➕ Open Booking Times → Add booking availability.
  6. Click Save.

Q13. Can I assign multiple weekdays to a shift?

Yes ✅
When creating/editing, select multiple days (Mon-Fri, Mon-Sun, etc.).


Q14. How do I view all shifts for the week?

  1. From the main menu, go to Masters → Shift.
  2. Go to the Shift table/list.
  3. The Days column shows assigned weekdays for each shift.

Q15. Can I duplicate an existing shift?

Yes ✅


Q16. What happens if I delete a shift that is already assigned in Rostering?

  • If a shift is deleted, employees linked to it will no longer have that schedule.
  • You should first reassign employees to a new shift before deleting the old one.

Q17. Can I set different booking times for weekdays and weekends?

Yes ✅

Steps:

  1. While adding/editing, select Weekdays (Mon-Fri) → Add booking times.
  2. Create another shift for Weekends (Sat-Sun) with different booking times.
